In 1949, Pierre Huguenin wrote that the events surrounding automatic watches resembled a detective novel, with new ideas, twists, and growing passion. The first edition of this book was published in January 2014 and distributed in England, Europe, and America. After that, I thought I had finished, but new information surfaced in the following six months, including previously undiscovered documents and a watch design that had never been described before.
Initially, I thought these elements could be added in an appendix without altering my conclusions. However, after an error in translating de Saussure's diary, I realized that it affected the dating and interpretation of other events. Although my conclusions remained the same, it became clear that a new edition of Origins was necessary.
